I’ve had my Birkenstocks for three years and the sole is basically gone because I’ve worn these things into the ground.

Faux Birkenstocks come in almost any colour, style, or pattern. Most stores carry 3-4 styles in a couple of colours each, when there are a plethora of sandals that Birkenstocks actually make. However, I find that it’s hard to see these different colours and patterns in stores located in Canada. Styleīirkenstocks on the left and Softmoc Anika’s on the rightīirkenstock sandals tend to come in neutral, high-quality leathers (like the ones I own), but they do have some funky colours and patterns online or in their Papillio brand. The Softmoc Anika’s provide lots of cushion, but is lacking in the support. Birkenstocks don’t have any cushion to them, but when they mold to your feet, they provide immense support. I guess the main difference in comfort between these shoes is the type of comfort. I brought these shoes with me when I went to Cuba, and they were also great for walking around town all day.

My faux Birkenstocks were comfy right out of the box because of their memory foam insole.

I brought my Birkenstocks on two vacations where I was walking a lot, and they made walking an absolute dream. However, once you start to break them in, these sandals PERFECTLY mold to your feet and become unbelievably comfortable. When I first got my Birkenstocks, I was shocked because everyone said that these shoes were so comfortable, but wearing them felt like I strapped plywood to my feet. For this post, I will be reviewing and comparing the real Arizona Birkenstocks to the Softmoc Anika’s on three major points in relation to travel: comfort, style, and quality. There are tonnes of faux Birkenstock sandals on the market, from the $10 pair at Ardene’s to your higher quality faux Birkenstocks around $60. However, you know what’s not so cute? That hefty price tag of $100+. These sandals are versatile, come in a variety of colours and styles, and are unbelievably comfy. I don’t know what they do to that shoe, but my god it’s perfection.Birkenstocks have been all the rage lately, and for good reason. Although the Amazon ones are cute and more narrow, the Birkenstocks are 100x more comfortable. And if you’re not ready to splurge, go with the Amazon ones. If you want color and print, they’re your best bet. I personally haven’t tried the Freedom Moses ones, however, I have heard good things. It was time for an upgrade.Īnd if you’re torn between the Birkenstocks or the Freedom Moses or even this version from Amazon, I say go with the real deal. The flip-flops were so worn down that I was about to be hitting cement when I walked. I head out of the house at least half a dozen times a day to walk her and usually throw on busted old flip flops. They’re under $50, come in tons of colors, and are insanely comfy. But this EVA or plastic version is new and oh so comfortable. The Arizona is a classic style they’ve had for years. But here we are in 2020 and I bought the real deal, Birkenstock Arizona EVA sandal. I had the knock off Boston clog – remember these? – that were a must have back in the early 2000s. Growing up in Oregon as a young kid, everyone and their mom (and dad) owned Birkenstocks. Sometimes I surprise myself and end up loving something that I swore was not me.
